Richard led the Omaha Works Incipient Fire Team for many years. I do not know how many years. Back then, I never understood why the word “incipient” was used to describe this team until I googled the term this morning and discovered one definition is “in an initial stage; beginning to happen or develop”. Richard’s team was to get to the fire scene on the property before the city’s fire department.
